Surgeon Benefits

  • Easy to use and apply. Clinically demonstrated to be faster and more reproducible than suture securement.
  • Secure and reliable. Reduces the risk of drain dislodgement/displacement and other adverse events.
  • Standardized and reproducible. Less reliant on the skill of the individual surgeon.
  • Removes the risk of securement related needle stick injuries.

Patient Benefits

  • Greatly enhanced experience and comfort over suture securement.
  • “Control Your Comfort™” positioning allows the patient to rotate the drain direction to their liking, away from clothing and pressure points.
  • Reduced risk of hospital re-admission or re-operation due to drain related adverse events.
  • Easy to care for. No dressings to change. No added dressings to shower.

Clinically Proven Safety and Efficacy

In a randomized, prospective clinical study published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – Global Open, 20 patients compared K-LOCK™ to traditional suture-secured drains. Use of the K-LOCK™ reduced drain securement time, was associated with no securement failures, and showed unequivocally higher patient satisfaction without increasing skin irritation or adverse outcomes.

Holding Power Means Your Patient's
Drains Are Secure

Sketch of figure pulling on a surgical drain installed in a K-LOCK™

The K-LOCK™ has the holding power to prevent early and/or inadvertent drain dislodgement; and thereby minimize adverse events. K-LOCK™ can hold nearly an equivalent of 2 Liter bottle of soda from the drain.

Benchtop testing of 18 devices subjected to dozens of simulated drain pulls has demonstrated that the K-LOCK™ can securely hold a drain with over 18 Newtons (or 4.2 pounds) of force before any movement of drain tubing is detected.
